Still on this idea, close your eyes and think of yourself. What do you see? š
What are the small pieces that create you -- your mosaic? š§©
My 38 yr-old self would say:
I always wear bangs because in my 20s I over tweezed. My best friend Jacqui always said: when in doubt, cut bangs. šš»āāļø
Our baby boy is a leftie and we let him be -- I can recall a young me, who was a leftie too -- made to practice writing with my right. āš½ My mom said it would make life easier. I still cook and carry bags with my left hand. š¼
Tea time is still special. š« āļø Now our little girl joins me -- born from my childhood, sipping tea after school, watching The Young & Restless with my sister and our parents. šŗ
I love the mall because as a kid, I remember our weekend trips to Dufferin Mall and then McDonaldās after. š š
I wear my nails short & red. It reminds me of the models I idolized in those fashion mags I read as a teen. š
I drink my coffee half-decaf/half-caf because my friend Susan taught me this is how to avoid the jitters. š³
I love travelling. With my husband, we are seeing new parts of the world. š My parents were teachers so we would travel every summer, especially to family in Toronto & Chicago. āļø
Sea salt Ghirardelli chocolate is my favourite. It reminds me of Midland, Texas and my favourite family there. šŗšø
Every night, I put vaseline on my feet and then wrap them in socks -- I started this on those August weeks in Vegas with my girls -- all that walking, shopping, dancing! 𧦠š§¦
I order Mrs. Fieldās cookie cake on special occasions. šŖ It reminds me of birthdays with Suzy & Sanaz before we all had kids.
I am starting to worry a lot. š There are many younger than me in my life -- my kids, another set of twin siblings (angels), and my 3 sisters. Life is amazing and wonderful but there is so much I donāt know.
And itās hard to just trust the universeā¦
We change and we grow. We win and we lose. And we are a mosaic of all of the things people have done to us, with us, and for us -- everyone we have ever met that has mattered. š
